Seahorses

Seahorses, also known as the hippocampus is one of my favourite subjects to cover. I have created several different types including a 4 foot tall wall mural. The yellow watercolour painting was presented to my neurosurgeon as a thank you present and is now my surgery tattoo. The seahorse made of cogs and keys and cracklepaste is called “Cognition”. It represents all the neurological tests undergone through the surgery programme. The warrior seahorse represents all the battle damage from epilepsy and is now in its new home in America. It was also made into a surgery tattoo! The featured seahorse on the banner (Scar Tissue) is almost 1 metre tall and was on display in the Epilepsy Scotland art exhibition in Glasgow in 2019.
